Now I KNOW what the phrase means!!!
I was all set after the long flight to meet my daughter at the airport, but she assumed I would meet her in town. In town? How would I get there? Which direction was it? How do I get out of the airport? So, I picked myself up and went outside following directions that said "buses," and got on one and said what address I was going to. Apparently you cannot just get on any bus and say that. In the mean time, I received a text that we were meeting at Trinity College and that WAS the bus I was on. Great news!! So I hopped on the bus and a half hour later was dropped of in the Dublin City Centre. Molly contacted me to say she was on her way & she suggested I walk around the campus. I did, lugging my suitcases behind. Gorgeous buildings and grounds. I could not walk one more step though, so I sat down on the grand stairs to wait.
Finally, she came running up and surprised me. We hugged for a very long time. The off to our new home for the next 10 days about a half a mile away with Emma- at the B&B. She is very nice and hospitable and gave us ideas for restaurants and outings.
Today was a "Bank Holiday," which is a day everyone in Ireland has off for no particular reason. So Molly had the whole day to show me around. After breakfast at a little place where she ordered "green eggs and ham" for us to split. Pretty good! Then off to shops -to look around, had a quick tour of Dublin center- watched street performers sing, juggle, walk on stilts...really unique.
